WHY DO YOU NEED THIS KIT?

We recommend storing a portable kit inside your vehicle to prepare for an evacuation or roadside emergency. Each winter, thousands of motorists across the country find themselves stalled on icy roads, stuck in long lines of traffic, or stranded in ditches waiting hours for assistance. Rest easy knowing you have a supply of emergency items at the ready if you need to shelter-in-place inside your vehicle for an extended amount of time. If a wide-spread disaster such as an earthquake or wildfire should occur, a quick evacuation may be necessary. Save time and stress by already having a "go bag" of essential items stored in your vehicle.

Reference blog post “Maintaining Emergency Rations” in the ER™ Preparedness Blog for why you should not rely on store-bought canned goods and water bottles in your survival kit.

Why do you need a survival kit in your vehicle?
You may have a fully stocked shelter-in-place kit or pantry at home, at the ready for you and your family; however, you may not be home when the disaster occurs.  Storing a go-bag in your vehicle ensures you have survival supplies wherever you go.  Alternatively, an emergency may force you to evacuate your home quickly.  In this case, your survival supplies are already in your car.  Stranded in your car during a snowstorm?  No worries, you have food, water, and a warm thermal blanket to get you through.

  • Customized
My daughter and I purchased this kit. The sales guy was very patient about explaining the items and why they are in this kit. We were even given one small emergency whistle for free.
  • Good choice for my husband and I
My husband and I basically live on the San Andres Fault in Desert Hot Springs. If "the big one" happens I hope our home does not sustain major damage and we can just wait for help to arrive. This kit is light and does allows us to travel easily on foot to a safe area if we would have to. I like the bucket type kits but they are less mobile becasuse they are heavier. My husband would be embarrassed with me saying this but he likes the tactical backpack the kit comes in too
  • 2 Person Evacuation Survival - Great
I like that this kit has the high calorie emergency food that comes in resealable pouch. If I got to walk for half a day or worst case scenario for a couple of days to an evacuation area it good that I can eat part of the energy bar, and then seal the pouch and throw the rest of the high calorie bar bar back in the backpack. The water in this kit is not the typical store bought bottled water. The Quake Care water is shelf stable and like the food. The AM/FM /Weather band Emergency Hand crank LED Flashlight Radio also has phone charging capabilities The kit has every thing you need but is light enough to carry the kit what I assume a very long distance if you have to hoof it to a safe place. Luckily I have not had a major disaster to confirm this yet.
